Firstly, Happy New Year! I have decided to jump back into the blogging world, which I have desperately wanted to for a long time, despite trying a couple of times to make an effort. I just haven't been in the right mindset to focus on my blogging. However, now I am and I'm coming back with my five favourite restaurants over the UK.
Being a huge lover of food (which you probably are too if you're reading this), I have chosen to write about my five favourite restaurants in the UK, which I have visited over the last year. I am well aware that some of these restaurants are independent - but at least if you are planning on trying somewhere new to eat or planning to visit the UK, you can jot down one or two of my favourites if they tickle your fancy.
My all time favourite is actually a new restaurant I've come across as it has recently opened up nearby. Turtle Bay is a Caribbean restaurant with a range of meals to choose from, from burgers to curries. Personally, I think that there is something on the menu suitable for all kinds of people, with vegetarian and gluten free options available. My favourite choice of food yet is the Garlic 'N' Herb Flatbread and the Jerk Pit Wings (duck wings) for starters and for mains the Trini Curry Chicken. The stunning food aside, the drinks available are also sooooooo nice! If you don't or can't drink alcohol, the soft drinks menu is just as nice. My favourite soft's are definitely the passion fruit cooler and the pineappleade.
Another restaurant I absolutely love, but yet to return to is The Mermaid in Mumbles - I'm not sure if there are any other restaurants connected to this one, but if you ever find yourself in Mumbles then you should definitely visit! I love the interior and atmosphere most but the food is equally as stunning. Definitely get the sharer because it is so cheap in price for how much you get! The food and drink menu is basic - what you'd usually find in standard restaurant's but they do regular specials.
Another restaurant in Mumbles, Verdi's. This restaurant has such an amazing view of the sea and a short walk to the arcade which makes me love this location even more. The restaurant itself is split into both a cafe and a ice cream parlour and who doesn't love ice cream?! There are so many food options to choose from and my favourites are always the pasta dishes! Even the ice cream menu has so many different flavours - reasonably priced too! I won't bother posting the picture as it is the main one of the post.
"
One restaurant which you definitely can't find just anywhere is the restaurant in Bristol Zoo, The Hide. I was quite shocked at the variety of food available considering it was a restaurant at a zoo - as well as being shocked at the gorgeous interior. I would definitely go back to Bristol Zoo just to eat at the restaurant! The pizza I had was probably the best pizza I have ever tasted, I'm not lying. The service was fantastic too - we had to move for an elderly couple and in return the staff gave us free dessert - which I of course was in my element.
"
Finally, the last restaurant I want to mention is Harry Ramsden. I am aware these are distributed largely across the UK. I am not usually a "fish and chips" kind of gal', but my boyfriend suggested I try it out at Harry Ramsden. I loved it! I don't think I have ever tasted a nicer fish and chips combo, and I would never eat it unless I was in this restaurant or if I made it myself. So, this is up there with my favourite restaurants for allowing me to actually love a meal I actually can't stand!
I hope I haven't bored you too much and convinced you to try out some new restaurants - or at least some new dishes. What are your favourite restaurants an dishes? Let me know in the comments!
XOXO
I’m a sicker for Lamb chops and chips, and hummus as a starter, definitky gets me happy. Can’t deny though that, that picture of fish and chips does look so amazing.
